The Salida Hot Springs Aquatics Center will be closed for 6-8 weeks beginning September 18 as we work on a major lap pool renovation and our bi-yearly maintenance and cleaning. All active passes will be extended for shutdown time PLUS compensated for 1 extra month!
While the pool is closed we will have staff answering phones for questions and registrations Tues-Thurs, 10am-2pm. No patrons will be allowed in the building due to construction.

October 20 – CAMP Friday, 9am-2pm. Wilderness Adventure Hike with GARNA on S Mountain. Please send kids dressed appropriately with good walking shoes, hats, sunscreen and water. Open play with Salida Recreation after lunch. October 20 – Art & Imagination classes with Salida Creativity Lab. Come dressed for painting and creativity in this fun mixed media class. Fridays through October 20, 9am-12pm, ages 7-10, $10 per class @ Chisholm Park. Must pre-register by calling 539-6738. October 23 – We are EXCITED to Announce: The Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center is OPENING EARLIER THAN EXPECTED! We will re-open MONDAY, OCTOBER 23 at 6am and then resume normal operating hours. We have completed a major lap pool renovation, walls and floors have been freshly painted, lobby picnic tables have been refinished, new benches have been installed in front of the building, and we have completed our bi-yearly deep cleaning…all ahead of schedule AND on budget! Thank you to our entire staff for making this happen!

October 27 – CAMP Friday, 9am-2pm. Join GUIDESTONE COLORADO at the Ranch for Halloween on the Homestead. The “Science of Bubbles” with Salida Recreation after lunch. Ages 5 to 8, $5/student per session, must pre-register by calling 539.6738. DROP OFF AT HUTCHINSON HOMESTEAD 8913 W HWY 50. November 2 – AARP Safe Driving Course, 1 to 5pm. Class will take place at the Senior Housing Authority Meeting Room behind the pool. Cost $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members. Register at the Aquatic Center front desk, 539-6738.

November 3 – CAMP Friday, 9am-2pm. Join GARNA for Winter Ecology.  “Water Science” with Salida Recreation after lunch. November 10 – CAMP Friday, 9am-2pm. Join GUIDESTONE COLORADO at the School Farm on Holman in preparing the garden for winter. November 29 – Travelogue presentation: Allison Stewart presents a story and slideshow featuring the gorgeous landscapes and scenery of the Andes mountains and coastal regions of South America, covering Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Salida Steamplant, 7pm, doors open at 6:30pm, $5 admission, cash bar.
