Salida Recreation and the Go To Guide are proud to announce the return to Riverside Park of “Thursdays at Six”, a series of free outdoor concerts throughout the summer. The series provides weekly entertainment in downtown Salida for locals and visitors alike and kicks off the weekend early! Donations collected from the concerts benefit the Salida Recreation youth scholarship fund. This program helps local children participate in programs, classes or memberships offered by Salida Recreation or Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center. This fund fits with our mission to provide low-cost, healthy and fun activities to everyone.
Where: Riverside Park in downtown Salida
Cost: FREE! Donations accepted for our youth scholarship fund
When: Thursday evenings at 6pm, June 9, 23 and 30, July 7, 14, 21 and 28, and August 4, 11, 18
What to bring: A picnic, non-alcoholic drinks, a blanket, camp chairs, family and friends! All concerts are family friendly events.
What to leave at home: Drinks in glass containers, alcohol (alcohol is not allowed in Salida parks without a special permit) and your dogs.
June 9 – Wooden Rain
Wooden Rain is a Marimba band based out of Salida. They are part of the Articipate program, and we are happy to have them kick off the Thursdays @ Six 2016 season!
June 16 – FIBArk
Thursdays @ Six will take a break for a week, but there will still be free live music in the park, presented by FIBArk. For more information, visit their website.
Blue Rooster is new to the Thursdays @ Six series, and we are happy to have them join us! Based out of Crestone, they play blues, rock and funk.
June 30 – Pint and a Half
Salida locals will recognize the Pint and a Half duo of Duke and Tami Sheppard. They play Americana and Alt. Country, and are popular fixtures in the local bar music scene.
July 7 – Alan & Martin
We are very happy to have this popular Salida country band back to Thursdays @ Six! Alan & Martin have been playing country music together for over 10 years and play a mix of cover songs and original music.
July 14 – Groove Farmers
The Groove Farmers are a funk band based out of Salida. They are another popular local band, and a great band to dance to, no matter your age!
We are lucky to have so many great bands out of Salida, and are happy to have The Riff return to the Thursdays @ Six stage. This popular rock band is also great to dance to!
July 28 – Hayes Hatfield Hybrid
Bruce Hayes, based out of Howard, has played on staged all over the world. The Hatfield Hayes Hybrid will feature rhythm and blues music and a lot of fun!
August 4 – Fembot
We’ll begin August with a new band to our lineup. Fembot is based out of Alamosa, and features female vocal leads covering popular 80’s and 90’s hits.
August 11 – Salida Din
Salida Din features the local trio of award winning musicians; Martin Epp, Toby Dunn and Bones. They play a great mix of classic rock, and are no strangers to the Thursdays @ Six and local music scene!
August 18 – High Five
Another new band to Thursdays @ Six, Hive Five is based out of Montezuma, CO. The play a little bit of everything…bluegrass, jazz, rock, jammy mountain music. A great way to finish off the summer concert series!
