We are proud to be the largest indoor hot springs in North America, as well as the only publicly-operated aquatic facility within 100+ miles of Salida. Please note we have 2 annual maintenance shutdowns (1 – 2 weeks in May and October) and seasonal schedule changes.
The pool is home to 2 local youth swim teams, host to over a dozen water fitness classes a week, and open to the public 70 – 90 hours a week, depending on the season. We also run swim lessons and host special events through out the year.

How to use the schedule:
Public swim is BLUE and water fitness classes OLIVE. Swim lessons are YELLOW and swim teams will be using the pool during PURPLE times. Click on a scheduled time and more information will pop up, including prices and special considerations.
- Pay attention to fitness classes and swim team practices that are concurrently scheduled with other public times, as these users will get priority use of indicated parts of the pool (specific number of lap lanes and/or inflow pool). Lap swimmers will want to check our lap swim guide (see links below) to see lane availability.
- The Aquatic Center is a 6 lane, 25 meter lap pool (approx. 85 degrees F) that is 4′ – 12′ in depth, plus an inflow pool (approx. 98 degrees F) that is 0′ – 4′ in depth.
- Private soaking pools are available anytime we are open for public swim or water fitness classes. Please call for a reservation.
A family who swims together, stays together! Adult supervision of kids is important as it allows our lifeguards and aquatic safety staff to focus on the water and keeping everyone safe. Children who are 10 years of age or older and are able to swim 25 meters of the pool on their fronts without stopping may be left unattended at the Aquatic Center. Children under the age of 10 who are able to swim the 25 meters must have an adult present in the facility. All children who are unable to swim 25 meters must be accompanied by an adult within arms reach at all times. Swim pants or diapers are required for those children who are not potty trained. Swim diapers are available at the front desk.
GREEN means go safely!!
Green means you can GO safely in the lap pool without an adult. Green means you can GO safely off the diving board. Green means you can GO safely up and down the climbing wall. Keeping all children SAFE in the water has always been a top priority at our facility. As a result, we will be adding a new policy that assigns a color-coded wristband to a child based on their swimming ability. Starting in January, the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center will be assigning a green wristband for children who are able to swim 25 meters of the pool on their fronts without stopping. This is a great tool to help our staff identify swimmers and non-swimmers. We will be keeping a record of all our swimmers starting in January so please bear with us, as we will be testing every child again. The children who have passed the swim test will have their names recorded in the swim test binder and in the computer under their household (if one exists). We would like to use the same wristbands over and over so we will ask that you turn them in after your swim. Enjoy the water!
Use of still cameras and video cameras are strictly prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted. Locker rooms will close 15 minutes after the closure of the pool each night. Please be respectful of our staff time in completing closing procedures. And nightly custodial duties.
The diving board, slide and climbing wall will be open at the sole discretion of the head lifeguard on duty, based on the number of people in the pool, conflicting fitness classes and lessons, and staffing. Please be respectful of the decisions that are made in order to keep all patrons safe.
