Salida Bike Fest is a 4 day festival, designed for both locals and visitors, being held September 11 – 14. The current schedule includes events such as a bike from work mixer, Salida Rec Travelogue featuring unicyclist Gracie Cole, bike to work day, free group rides, a chainless race, bike films, the Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race, and the Monarch Crest Crank.
The City of Salida and the Chamber of Commerce are involved in the marketing and overall general organization of Salida Bike Fest, but the ultimate goal is to get Salida groups, businesses and anyone else who just really likes bikes involved in the design and implementation of the festival. Any group hosting an event during the festival will receive the proceeds from that event. Groups involved in the past include the City of Salida, the Chamber of Commerce, Salida Mountain Trails, Salida Cycling Club, the High School Mountain Bike Team, Absolute Bikes, Salida Bike Company, Sub Culture Cyclery, the Salida Steamplant, the Salida Police Department and LiveWell Chaffee County.
